Guidelines and Tips for making your booking
This site allows you to view the programs for Science in the City, Science in the Suburbs and Science in the Bush events and make your booking. To make your booking quickly and easily follow these handy tips:
1. Identify which day you want your school to attend.
2. Know in advance how many students you want to bring.
3. Read the program - you can click on activities to read about them in detail.
4. Identify first and second choice activities for each group.
5. Confirm the dates and choices with your school.
6. Select "Book Event" and follow the steps to create a timetable for each group and confirm your booking.
Once your booking is complete you will recieve an email notifying you of the details. You will be able to use your teacher log-in to access group itineraries, venue maps, risk assessments, pre or post event worksheets and our teache resources. Other tips for booking your program:
Group sizes - activities are booked in groups of 30 students or less (minimum size 10). If you have a large number of students make sure you have each groups' activities selected prior to booking.
Number of activities - some events have limitations on the number of different activties each group can attend. As a general rule groups are limited to 1 workshop and 1 show. Other activities are offered as available.
General entry - For Science in the City general entry is $6 per student and includes the Science in the City Expo and entry to the Australian Museum. All other activities are at additional costs and inclusive of GST unless otherwise stated.
For Science in the Suburbs and Science in the Bush events entry is between $7.70 and $9.90. This covers - entry to the event, 1 show/talk, 1 workshop, 2 sessions in the Expo and other activies as available for each group.
Adult entry -For Science in the City a maximum of one supervising adult per ten students gains free entry to the event. Other adults pay the standard entry fee for the Australian Museum ($12.00).
For other Science in the Suburbs and Science in the Bush events entry for supervising adults is free.
